Mojosongo Mary Cave

The full name of the Mojonsongo Mary Cave is the Cave of the Virgin Mary Regina Mojosongo. It is a pilgrimage site for Catholics located in the village of Mojosongo, Jebres, Solo. This Mary Cave is located in the Parish of the Virgin Mary Regina, Purbowardayan under the direct jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Semarang, Central Java.

Initially, the location of this place was a scrubland and there was an iron cross in the middle, and it was used as a place for praying the rosary. Father Matius Puspo Sudarmo, Pr. Had the idea to build a pilgrimage site on the land in 1980. Finally, on December 25, 1983, the Mojosongo Maria Cave was blessed and officially became a pilgrimage site for Catholics by the Bishop of Semarang, Mgr. Julius Darmaatmadja.

It has a clean, shady, and comfortable room with surrounding trees, and this makes the Mojosongo Maria Cave one of the places for pilgrims to pray. The cave of Mary in Mojosongo has the motto Per Mariam Ad Jesum, which means towards Jesus through Mother Mary. This shows how meaningful the cave of Mary is for Catholics.
