Kali Talang

Located in Balerante Village, Kemalang District, Klaten Regency, Kali Talang is a tourist destination offering natural beauty and iconic views of Mount Merapi from the southeastern side. Despite being located in Klaten, this spot offers a panorama that is no less stunning than the viewpoints from Yogyakarta or Magelang.

Kali Talang's main attraction is its view, which directly faces the summit of Mount Merapi. On clear days, you'll be treated to a view of the majestic peak of Merapi, often shrouded in a thin mist in the morning. The surrounding landscape of green hills and trees adds to the beauty of the atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and photography.

One of the most popular spots at Talang River is the suspension bridge that spans the ravine. This bridge not only serves as access but is also a favorite spot for visitors to take photos with the stunning Merapi backdrop. There are also various other artistic photo spots created by the management, such as swings, observation posts, and unique wooden platforms.

The air at Kali Talang is cool and fresh, typical of mountainous areas. Besides enjoying the scenery, visitors can also relax in small stalls serving food and hot drinks, such as tea and coffee, perfect for enjoying in the cold weather. Although once a path for cold lava during the Merapi eruption, Kali Talang has now been transformed into a captivating tourist destination. This place is a testament to how local communities have successfully harnessed the natural beauty and potential of the post-eruption landscape to create an attractive and beneficial tourist resource.
